Storyboard Out!

Hello All and a Very Good morning to each of you (sorry too much caffeine on a Saturday morning)! I’ve sent off the storyboard to the CCS supervisors and Richard Brake at ABC for feedback. Wanted to keep you all ‘posted.’

Case Examples

Hey y’all – how many case examples do we want to have? One for each theory or multiples? Or maybe we could add a link to one or two good case examples considered from each theory…

New updated Storyboard on Lake Online

I put the new storyboard up on webct. I just added pics for 3 slides: goals, systemic approach, and homework. Let me know what you guys think of the pics and if they fit with what were trying to say in that slide. I did not add in the new script because we have not finalized it yet.

Syllabus and Milan Therapy

Hey class,

I spoke with Shawne and Teresa earlier today and we were talking about how we don’t practice Milan Therapy at the CCS and that maybe we could skip over Milan Therapy or take it out of the syllabus so we can focus more on SFT, MRI, and Narrative. What do you guys think? I don’t think that Bobele has turned in the official syllabus yet and that we are still allowed to make changes. So we could just leave what we have of Milan Therapy on the Wiki and then let the next class have this task of adding stuff about it. Thoughts?

Postmodern theorists geneology

It might be useful to develop a “family tree” diagram of the postmodern theorists and how they contributed to the postmodern theories, as well as how they are connected to each other. What do you think?

For example, MRI and Milan theories are connected by some theorists who began with the Milan approach and then modified it to the MRI. What aspects of the original theory did they keep from the Milan approach and then what additional info. did they add in to construct the MRI approach?  

Case Examples

I was wondering if we are going to put actual case examples on the wiki. I know we have sections on each therapy site for this. I am wondering if we are supposed to use cases from the clinic? The reason I ask is because I have have cases in mind for use to show how SFT looks in practice but I would need to transcribe them if we are going to do this and it takes time. 

My thoughts are doing it like we did it in systems III, where we discussed the techniques and examples of this with actual clients, similar to what we see in the books and articles we read. What are your thoughts about this?

Bartering Services for Client Video

Hey class, 

I spoke with Augo about bartering therapy services and offering classes at the Lake to his Raging Bull company in exchange for a discount on the therapy prep. video. He laughed for a very long time and then said he would speak with the head honcho. He doesn’t think that his boss will go for it because the last time he tried bartering for a video, it didn’t work out in the company’s favor. It’s not looking good.

I guess that leads me to the question of what we’re going to do if our grant or money falls through and we can’t contract with Raging Bull. What do we do then? What’s our back up plan for getting this video done by the end of the semester? Dr. Solorzano said that she might be able to get her husband to do the video if this doesn’t work out. So that may be an avenue we can explore.  And if that doesn’t work out, are we going to make it a student production? What else can we do? Any ideas, peeps?

anyone working on the revision of the storyboard for Augo? I remembered him saying that we need to have it in a powerpoint-like format. I’m happy to help out on this. Does anyone have any ideas?

This week’s assignment

For this week’s assignment are we supposed to be drafting a letter (as in Dear Madam or Sir) explaining why our video is a good idea? Also, who is our audience (OLLU’s Board of Trustees, the President, the Dean, the marketting VP, all of the above)?
